I am looking at this project through a Dad’s eyes and I could not be more proud. My 12-yo daughter had a Mother’s Day project she wanted to build. I came home from work and heard some tinkering in the garage and went out to find her working on this frame. She said she would have used my power tools but couldn’t get the miter saw unlocked. Not to be deterred, she went after these pieces of maple as per the enclosed plans. She actually sawed all the corners using a pull saw and a flush trim saw. Wow…way to go, kid. No, the corners do not quite match but she got it all clamped up. With a little more glue mixed with some sawdust, gaps could be filled. A makeshift spray booth and some scrabble game tiles and the project was completed.
She may make other things later in life and they may be “perfect” but I dare say none will ever compare to this first-time project. It is a masterpiece.
