Here’s my little collection of Roy Underhill inspired grease pots. Not only do I like making them, but they give me the chance to work with different woods and different combinations of woods. The woods used in this collection are Juniper, Alder, Spalted Alder, Purpleheart, Cascara, Barberry, and Black walnut. They are all finished with various recipies of beeswax and oil.

For all you guys & gals in the GBOC…has anyone tried scaling these up and making a pen/pencil presentation box? If so, do the dimensions scale well or does it just look off when you make it big enough to hold pen/pencil?

These little boxes appear to be the latest rage. The design is quite interesting and looks like a challange to make. I think I will give it a shot when I am done with a new bench. Does anyone out there use these as greese boxes and what kind of greese is used?
