This box is made from Lignum Vitae wood. After turning on the lathe it was sanded by hand and finished with tung oil. The lid fits slightly snug to keep contents from falling out and the bottom is concave so the box sits level. This wood is one of my favorite woods to turn.
Box measurements
Outside- (With lid on) 1 5/8” tall with a 1 3/8” diameter.
Inside- 1” deep with a 1” diameter bore.

Wow…like this one too! The grain wrapping down from the lid looks great.

Nice little box… but that sure doesn’t look like lignum vitae :-O
Cheers,

Beautiful wood, grain, finish, size and great shape. I like everything about this turning. I just took a look at your projects and I must say you have mastered the small lidded boxes. I will have to try my hand at making a small lidded box. Thanks for sharing.
