Project Information
I had an idea to cut a picture from one piece of wood to include the picture frame so I tried a few experiments one that I did I called autumn carpet as itwas different coloured leaves I took this to a fair in Germany and sold it and got commissioned to do more , this one was inspired by a photo.
The wood is lime at 230mm x 170 mm x 12 mm thick and the technique is very simple draw the pattern cut the parts out , reduces the background parts thickness to 6mm shape Nd texture the other parts as required they are each then stained using chestnut spirit stains .I then glue a 2mm thick ply backing board onto the frame , reassemble the parts in the frame and then finish with a hard wax oil.
I think they are pretty effective sold a few with different subjects just off got a show next weekend with this one ands few more as part of the stock.
