All's WELL that ends well

A few years, before I left the friendly confines of my employer, one of my coworkers asked me to make a “wishing well” for his wedding 10 days away. I told him this is kind of short notice, but he was a friend, so I did a quick sketch over lunch and he said, “that’s it, build it”.

It is pine, cedar, with a cedar shake roof, and a plywood bottom so he can add a liner and flowers after the wedding.
The crank mechanism works but it will never reach water!

The little well was made with leftover material and was a surprise!

The project title has an uppercase WELL, for the main project, and a lowercase one for the little well!

Seeing the well posted by Sunburned reminded me of one of my old projects, thanks Sunburned!

Very WELL done, Hans! I enjoy looking back at the “Journey Projects” that shaped the skill and expertise we have today.

Hans, That’s a lovely little well. Just perfect for your friend. Let’s hope it brought good luck for his marriage.

Cute item. Objects for the lawn and garden don’t have to have fine craftsmanship, but they do need attention to details like wood types, etc. Up here, the things I make for the garden and such tend to last for decades.

Finally really beginning to melt here. Reached 60 deg yesterday in places….
