This is a project I designed and built for my Grandson. He has been advancing in his martial arts discipline and moving up in the different belt levels. So I thought for his birthday I would make a wall mounted display to keep his retired belts in and a shelf top for any future awards hopefully!

The wood choices are hard maple and Purple Heart and hardwood dowels that secure the belts. I made the inlaid accent by hand and used maple and Wenge for contrast. In the fourth pic there’s a fixture to help size the belt for alignment. Plugs are Purple Heart and the finish is a tung oil mixture that I prefer. He was surprised and pleased with the gift and in return pleased me!!

Thanks for checking in …......Rob

Beautiful Rob!

I spent 30 years of my life teaching traditional Chinese martial arts, so this really speaks to me. Nice Job!
