This is the one of the first furniture pieces attempted. I am a cabinetmaker who does mostly custom woodworking kitchens and such. This young man of 78 whose kitchen I built had made numerous Morris chairs and so during a slow time… 70 hours later this was my 1st chair. Following that I made a Mahogany and a Cherry one pictures of those later Hours and hours sanding. What me waste a knot not happening. Enjoy

Very nice! The adjustable backrest is not something I’m familiar with. I’d build one of these for a really nice lounging chair when I come home from work, but my MIL’s galoot Cocker Spaniel would sit in it and bark at passersby (and stink it up), so I guess I’ll have to wait…or electrify it.

Hey Bill I am not sure where Jack got the plans he and Phil who’s 84 laminated plans for the chairs. I will find out and post it in the near future. So very much fun to make now I just gotta sell em! They have built between em probably 18 chairs, mostly oak. I am not much of an oak fan so walnut, cherry and mahogany.
Thanks joec

This is a very nice looking Morris chair. I’ve not seen one in Walnut before, but wow – that tone of wood ready shines! Can’t wait to see the Cherry and Mahogany varieties. Great work!

Whoa, I thought I was clicking on an adirondack chair and was pleasantly surprised. Well done indeed!
