First project I’ve gotten around to posting on LJ – more coming, I promise!

My wife does makeup, and was looking for an Easel on which to practice both her traditional and airbrush makeup (basically, it’s a really small HVLP sprayer for makeup application). So I whipped this one up with poplar and pocket screws. Nothing fancy, just a 1×12 piece of poplar ripped into narrower pieces to form 2 H-frame halves of an Easel. I rounded over all the edges and slapped some not-very-artistic hinges at the top. A length of 550 cord keeps it from opening too far, and the work surface can be adjusted in height so she can sit or stand however she wants.

It’s unfinished, but we plan to use our wood burning kit to decorate the wood in some way. Eventually. Maybe. If we ever get around to it…

All that’s left is to build a mount so she can put one of her creepy-looking fake heads right in front of the work surface!
