well, the title pretty much sums up why I built it. The box is zebra and hickory, the cross is maple, the rope molding is red oak.
I had recently bought a dovetail jig from Rocklers and had played with it, this is the first project with it.
the finish is 2 coats of gemini precat 30 sheen lacquer.
wish I could say I had fun but did not under the circumstances,
I didn’t know what size to build it, the gentleman at the funeral home was most helpfull, he let me have the cardboard box they put the ashes in to set the size for my box.
the project before this on was for a really loved family pet, I built a cross for his grave, no I didnt post it,
Im ready for something happy and fun

Randy, first I wish to offer my condolences on the passing of your Mother-In-Law. The Urn turned out beautifully and is quite a fitting tribute. We will be praying for you and some happy and fun times to come your way.

Nice job Randy. I can understand that you did not have fun making it, but from the looks of it you put your best into it.
