My first go at a live edge table. I have made a few since and I’m in love with building tables.
Slab was given to me and I thought I’d give it a try. All I had was the slab in walnut so I made the base with white oak and stained it to match. I gave it to my dad for Christmas.

Dude, you know everyone is going to see the shiny gloss and ask “what did you use for a finish”
So what was it?

Total boat epoxy. Rock hard finish. Mix well, pour on, square trowel to spread evenly and then brush the sides. It’s a bit time consuming after that making sure the air bubbles are removed but as you can see, it’s well worth it.
