Here is a firetruck pinewood derby car I made a few years ago. It has a tilt forward cab to see the seats and stearing wheel. Also has an opening back for ladder storage.

You make some of the best derby cars I have seen. Excellent work and beautifully done. Thanks for posting.

God Bless

What I wonder is have you actually raced them? If so how did they do? Some of the cars I’ve seen would not pass pine wood derby regulations and would not be allowed to race at least for competition you could always just run them for fun. Any ways I’m just wondering because my son has seen some of these and he now wants to make something similar for this years race.

I have raced some of my cars at WIRL Woodcar Independant Racing Leage. The rules are the same as pinewood derby but you can use any brand of wheels. They also have outlaw races with razer thin wheels ballberrings and other things. This one was too heavy to race but I did put it in the show comp. Most of my cars were not as fast as the other cars in the leage. But going by times each new car I made got a little faster, so did everyones cars. Now I just make them for fun and have not raced since 2006.

Best one I have ever seen. Great workmanship on this vehicle
