Finish up a couple picture frames made from walnut. The larger one is about 12×12 inches with halflap joints; actually this was the start of a base for another project but I made a mistake so shifted to making a picture frame! Smaller one is about 8×8 inches with mitered corners. I finished both with General Finishes High Performance semi-gloss. Once again used my keyhole router bit which makes for an easy and clean way to hang the frames (thanks again to the LJ that suggested that for a prior project – getting lots of use from it). Cut some hardboard for the back and acrylic sheet for the front. Need to get a better sized picture for the larger frame and planning for the smaller to be a gift (but for now, dog pictures help make a project look better!!!). :)

Let me guess, you really love those dogs! 8^)

Good work with the miters and half laps, and I see you are enjoying that keyhole bit!

These frames are beautiful and nicely done and the photographs look great with the frames.

Thanks everyone. The frames were fun little projects. (And yes, I like that keyhole bit!) Gave away the small frame this afternoon (minus the picure of my pup!)...and the recipient plans to add a dog picture of his own. Guess the frames are just meant to be “for the dogs.” In my world, that is fine!
