I built this island after I found I needed just a little more counter space in our kitchen. All of the wood is recycled from buildings I have worked on. The top and the shelf came from floor joists taken from a 100+ yr old building from the area. They were actually sitting outside for 3 yrs before I saved them. The legs were originally posts holding up a wood beam in a house we renovated. The framework came from the studs of our 130 year old house. I put castors on the legs just to make it easier to move around. This is the first project I’ve posted, but I enjoy seeing what everyone makes. Thanks for comments or tips you may have.

That looks like a really solid addition to the kitchen.
