This is not my original idea; not sure who to credit for it but whomever did it first…what an awesome idea.

I found a reference picture while searching Pinterest one day looking for pantry storage ideas.

What we had before was one of those metal basket hanging things, but it just didn’t make efficient use of the space.

So first I took the door down and figured out my measurements and roughed it up right on the door itself.

Also incorporated some bins specific for garlic, onion, and potato storage.

Pretty much all half rabbit joints and biscuits to help with alignment.

Also went with cedar so to keep it as light as I could. Figured the more weight I could restrict from the project, the better for the existing door hinges.

Then a couple coats of spray poly.

Then attach it to the door using simple L-brackets.

Still holding strong after a year, so really pleased with it.

Now if we could just clean up the rest of that pantry :)

Well done! I have been planning to build essentially the same thing. I am sure it provides some much needed organization and extra space.
