A prototype design for a challenge coin display and storage box. Made from walnut and maple lumber with wood hinges and pinned with walnut dowels. So all wood construction.

Not visible but the inside bottom has an Air Force specialty badge carved into it to make it a little special. Same specialty badge that I used on my foot rest.

Gave the box away as a gift to a close friend.

OG, I like the hinges and the dowel accents. The sides look a little heavy, but the proportions and wood tones are very attractive. Interesting top. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Thanks. It is heavy. The challenge coins are all metal and heavy. I wanted something with some stoutness to be able to keep them all. The top can display between 24 and 30 coins but the box can hold more than a 100 coins.

lol. Sorry. I am dumping a lot of projects into the gallery. I just discovered this forum and catching up. The projects so far posted go back about 6 years (the grandfather clock). The majority of the rest of the projects have been completed in the last 3 years. This project was completed about 2 years ago when my friend left for Germany.
