Black Walnut, cherry, and maple… I sat on this board for several months before I decided on these handles. I wanted something that wouldn’t distract from the grain of the walnut. Finished with butcher block oil.B

Well that is really really very beautiful! I’m shocked that I am the first person to comment after your post having so many viewings. Your choice of woods, grain, and it looks like a very original design for a tray… really very beautiful.

I assume that is walnut sapwood in the middle. The walnut is on either side of the tray and the maple forms the handles. Is the cherry the two strips that lies between the two even narrower dark strips, which I assume to be walnut as well?
