Made these for my Grandson’s first birthday, because 1 year olds don’t make enough noise right!. Slit drum is made of Sapele, elm, and walnut. The xylophone is made completely out of wormy red oak. Had a red oak 2×12 about 3’ long, completely riddled with worm / bug holes. My friend said to just go ahead and burn it because I would never do anything with it. Think I turned it into something that will be enjoyed for a while. My Grandson sure liked it. Thanks for looking. Jeff

These are beautiful, are there any type of tuning decisions made in the design process?
