My friend’s wife recently purchased a new portable weaving loom & it didn’t come with a stand. So she asked if I would make one for her. I looked at many examples of photos & plans online & decided to make my own design that allows the weaver to load up the loom with thread & easily install or remove the loom from the stand without fumbling around with four wing nuts & slotted leg tops & angle braces.

Here is what I came up with…

It is made of Baltic Birch Plywood & Pine with a shellac finish. I made a “Sub Base” that allows the user to quickly “hook” the front of the loom in & latch the back with one large wing nut. There is plenty of vertical adjustment. And angle adjustment so the user can use it while comfortably sitting. There is also a comfortable footrest to make it more stable to use. For hardware, I used the larger plastic wing nuts like we woodworkers use on our router tables & jigs. They are much easier to use than those small metal wing nuts that you get at the hardware stores & like those that come on all the cheap loom stands… Best Part… She likes the stand!
