I was commissioned to design and build this 3 drawer bowfront cabinet by a friend to fit into a small niche in her foyer. Only the front is visible hence the cheating on the back legs!! It is mostly 1/4 sawn sapele. Casework is dovetailed together and all dovetails are hand cut. Curved parts are a challenge for me. The doors were carved out of a piece of 6/4 Sapele and hand planed into a 1/2 the curve for each door.
Toner blended the color variance. A LOT of hours!

Thanks Mike! It took way too long to build but I had never built anything with a bowed front nor cabriole leg’s before this. Pretty pleased with the way it came out and the lady was pleased with it. Her entire home is finished in Sapele so she needed just one more piece!!! Glad you like it too!

That’s a beautiful cabinet—the sapele looks great, and the cabriole legs are fantastic!

The customer/friend has picked out black pulls to go w the hinges. Will be a while before they show up. I’ll update photos after those are installed.

Thanks for the compliment Dean!

Looks very nice.
Well done.
