These are wood whisperer inspired Cutting boards I made with purple heart and maple. Various sizes and designs. It’s very interesting to make different designs with slight variations. These will be gifts for family. I used my new LN bevel up smoother to flatten them out in between glue ups. Very nice. Thanks for looking.

Pity that the grain orientation… or lack…was part of the design. Hard work for the LN plane…

yep, pattern looks familiar… nice job.

If I were to make this again, I would change the finger grip cut outs so you can flip the board over and use both sides. Having said that, my daughter has been chopping veggies on one of these daily for almost a full year. I saw it last week… I could barely find a scratch on it. It will hold up.

Glue joints: I cut a scrap of my extra “logs” into 1/8 inch strips and used for box top. The glue joints hold up well. The wood will crack before the glue joint breaks.
