This is a free standing unit that is actually part of a 14’ wall unit. The other pieces are yet to be built.
The fireplace insert is a gas fired unit with artificial logs.
The “S” on each column top does not stand for Shopdogs, or Smith. It is the Client’s initial.
The walnut has been in storage for 25 years or so. Some of it was very twisted and buggy, but we ended up with about 500 BF of good usable stock. Note the section of “flame grain” we used for the mantle top.
This unit is pretty heavy to move, but still not as much as the purple heart entertainment center.
Thanks for looking.
Michael

Oh, so very nice. That is some very nice wood. Everything turned out great. I’m sure the customer will be very pleased. That is some fine free-hand router work on the “S”.
