This is a project I completed for a local Navy Captain. He wanted to have his spouse and his career all in one chest. (She had quite the surprise) Additionally he asked if I could add their kids names and “God Family and Country”. He left that up to me to figure out. After a little brain storming I decided to add it to the trim of the chest, in maple, separated by stars that were made from abalone shell. I thought the abalone would add a nice nautical touch. The letters on the maple banners were inlayed with walnut.
Thanks for Visiting!

Love the contrasting colors of maple and walnut: tops!!
What was your method of constructing the curved top? Looking to put together a smaller version myself.

Totally inspiring! I’ve always wanted a sea chest for my retirement. Maybe I will try my hand at it. Thank you for sharing!
