This was my first attempt at making a large piece of furniture.

I used select pine because there was a lot of new things for me to try, and I didn’t want to ruin a bunch of expensive hardwood. As it turned out I didn’t ruin much of anything, so go figure.

This was my first large scale use of dovetail joints, rabbets, dados, stopped dados, etc.

I built it for my daughter, Emily.

This is the book that walked me through building the dresser: http://www.amazon.com/New-Yankee-Workshop-Norm-Abram/dp/0316004545 The book was very thorough and easy to use.

That came out very nice, very clean lines, great looking dovetails. Like the colors. She will love it.

Good job MatR, I’m sure your daughter loves it. You should be proud of that one.

That is one nice chest of drawers. I think the colors are perfect for a young lady.
