This is one of my new pieces it is made movingui , the metal going through the wood is aluminum and the base is steel. I love the fig. of the movingui and how the metal and the wood change with the light .

The wood top is awesome! I hope you plugged the top of the pipes or they will end up as trash receptacles. I was a welder before I retired and every time I left a pipe uncapped, it was guaranteed to end up with all sorts of trash in them. Maybe you have better trained people around you! Nice job otherwise.

very nice, I like it when wood is mixed with other mediums.

Great piece Donald. I also love the use of wood and steel. Never seen movingui. It’s beautiful and alive. How did you finish the wood?

I sanded it to 400 grit and used tung oil about 9 coats with out the oil the wood seemed to oxidize in the air but it really came alive once the oil was applied.

Donald, I dig your combination of materials. What do you use on the steel to prevent rust?
