I’ve finished my retirement shadow box and got it mounted on the wall. The American flag was flown over the United States Capital building in Washington D.C. in recognition of my retirement and my father’s service in the Army during Vietnam. Senator Ted Cruz also wrote me a letter in recognition of my retirement. The sword was my retirement gift from my final unit. After 22 years, I look forward to being a civilian again.

I have my retirement ceremony from the Army this week at Ft. Myer. After 20 years, I’m happy to finally be moving on as well. I’ve lived around the military my whole life, so this will be a big change.

Congratulations on your retirement. All the best to you in the civilian world.
