This is the bed i made for my wife. Its made from 3/4 birch ply and cedar trim. There are 4, 24”x24” drawers on casters, 2 on each side. Also there are 4 lights, 2 on each side, in the upper side beams connected to a dimmer. It is made to easily breakdown and setup with a socket and a screwdriver.

I have to say that I really like your design, the wife has been asking me to build her a bed for awhile, but I have never came up with a design that I liked. Hope you don’t mind if I borrow some of your ideas. Great Job

Nicely done! It looks sturdy and will last for generations. Very practical to have large hidden drawers and to have it disassemble with some ease.

Cmills, the design is my own. it is very simple, just some plywood boxes for the post and beams and a large ply box for the base. I used a kind of half lap in the corners of the base. 2 sides of each post bottom are actually extensions of the base box. that give the room for the half lap. Let me know if you want more details.

Nice bed. You said you made it for your wife… is it for you and your wife or does she sleep alone? ;)
