So I started making Thanksgiving dinner for the family a few years ago. I’m no cook so I went at it just like a woodworking project – step by step, follow directions, measure twice poor once :) All we had was a small old cutting board which didn’t fit the turkey very well so here is the new and improved turkey board. I really made it because I knew Grandpa would like it – hence the name. It’s about an inch thick and heavier than all get out. Maple and Honduran Rosewood that I found at my local hardwood store, recycled from taking apart an organ is what I think they told me. I finished it with several coats of mineral oil and then a coat of beeswax and mineral oil.
