This had been on my bucket list for awhile and I needed a challenge so I made these just for the fun of it. I used my old cheap plastic ones for the templates. Much better look and feel now. Wasn’t too happy with the two tone finish but I wanted food safe oil on scoops. Used water bourn poly on handles so they wouldn’t feel oily. Purple heart for hinge pin (extra hard) keeping ears running same direction as grain.

Nice project Jim. Looks like you had to start off with fairly thick pieces of Cherry. Did the off-cuts become butter knives? ;)
