On the first day of school holidays we hosted some of my kids friends in our workshop. They got some basic woodworking instruction, made a cool LEGO display and had ice creams in the treehouse! The LEGO display is a simple three shelf design, the main ideas coming from this blog.

We super glued some LEGO strips on each of the shelves and the kids had brought their minifigures and put them in place for some cool after-project photos. I made a couple of improvements on designs I had seen eg the dados in the sides which I made up as well as the shelves and backing beforehand. Basically all they needed to do was hammer in some nails and paint – however we forget that even the basics need teaching at some point.

What a scene! So many little woodworkers. Great projects they made.
