The Hopi Vessel. We have family that live in southern Arizona, and I made this as a Christmas present for their home. The vessel is based on a Southwest Native American pottery theme. There are 377 total pieces of cherry, walnut and maple.
This is the largest vessel that I’ve ever made, measuring 15 ½ tall by 15 ½ wide. It turned out okay, but I don’t think I’ll ever attempt anything this large again. This one stretched the capacity of my lathe (and my abilities) to the limit.

Love this vase and bet the recipient will to. Designs like this my favorites. What a great finish. I just looked at your projects and really like the things you make plus I try to be a segmented turner. Your stuff is art.
