Trilogy - a Colinnear rip off

A trilogy: a set of three works of art that are connected, and that can be seen either as a single work or as three individual works.

Yes I admit this is s rip off of from one of our own Lumberjocks Truimph1. I saw his piece, Colinnear , a while ago and something about it spoke to me. I especially liked the way Jeff turned the back of the boxes into a design element by using a full overlay technique and contrasting wood. I wanted to try it myself and the material that I had in my shop lent itself to the same design.
My interpretation “Trilogy” has a different base than Jeff’s (mine is just a simple floating base while Jeff’s is an interlocking affair.
Walnut, curly maple, ebony with rosewood drawer fronts. 25” x 6” x 4”
Thanks to Jeff for his inspiration and our fellow Lumberjocks for sharing ideas and support.
Cheers and yes I did get Jeff’s blessings to copy and share.

Beautiful set of cabinets.

A great design and implementation.

Simply beautiful! The woods are just fantastic and I love the handles. Finish is perfect as well.

Bibb….it is beautiful. It makes a person feel pretty good inside when somebody else wants to show them their interpretation of their work…and even better when the work is done so well. I love the drawer fronts. It looks like a landscape to me. And the pulls have have a great shape to them.

They say imitation is the surest form of flattery…and so it is in this case. A beautiful interpretation which enhances the original. Great job Bibb….I bet that is some of that nice rosewood from Deni? (that I need to put to use soon) and kudos to Jeff for the design.
