Here are a few of the Merry Christmas Sleds I made from the Vectric website. I made seven of the first type all personalized for the recipient. The second picture are for my wife’s two nephew’s who each had their first kid this year. The construction was pretty straightforward but the painting presented a real problem. I ended up throwing out more mistakes than I was able to keep. After numerous messy failures I found v-carving the letters first, hand paint, then hit it with spray paint, then run the pocket to remove the top layer worked the best.

For the reverse version, I loved the look, but even with a couple coats of spray paint and 4 coats of clear, the glitter paint wears off very easily. They look like they are a couple years old already and they haven’t even received them yet.

These turned out great. I can imagine the painting took a lot of time, but each looks very nice.

Nice build and the lettering is really well done too.
