I made these bottle openers based on a project in Nick Offerman’s book “Good Clean Fun”. Quick little Christmas gifts. All made from firewood – walnut leftover from my rocking chair build, and curly maple from a small piece of firewood that we purchased in a bundle while vacationing in Maine. Cut nail as the opener bit, sprayed shellac as a finish mostly because it was quick.

Neat. I make a few types of openers; thanks for the idea of the cut nail.

Where can I purchase them at a reasonable cost; as most of my openers are given away.

Nope. No place that’s cheap – I bought a bunch from Lee Valley a while back. I think maybe I caught them in sale? Can’t remember. They were still expensive.
