Hope everyone is getting a chance to spend time with family this Christmas. I was fortunate enough to spend time with my brother and his family last night & presented him with the miniature sled made primarily of apple wood.

The inspiration for this sled came from previous sled projects by jbschutz here

The sled measures 16” long and 8” wide. The skis are made of cherry and the platform and steering yoke are apple (bed slats edge lined with 1/4” walnut). I laid out the skis and cut them on my CNC & inscribed our family name and two Holly leaves on the yoke. I finished it with a coat of seal-a-cell and buffed with 0000 steel wool and wax.

Thanks for looking & Merry Christmas to everyone.

What a beautiful memory maker this is. Really a wonderful present.

Great sled, Bill, I like the apple wood and walnut combo and the name on the yoke. You are making me jealous, being able to use a cnc machine for the runners.
Merry Christmas …....keep the sawdust flying.
