Double Pistol Case

I wanted to make a personalized gift for a friend of mine for Christmas. While looking for ideas online I came across a double pistol/4 magazine foam insert on Amazon designed for a 50 cal. ammo can. I thought, why not design a custom wood case to replace the standard metal ammo can? I chose a patriotic 3D model for the front and V-carved the 2nd Amendment on the back. The hinges are 90 degree stop hinges purchased at Rockler which work very well in this application. The box is made from Oak, stained Red Oak and finished with clear lacquer.

Tim, good adaptation and design. Nice to have the interior ready made.

It may just be my old eyes, but I can’t make out what is carved on the sides. Can you help?

The oak wood grain can be a little distracting in the photo’s. One side has an eagle head on an American flag and the other side has the 2nd Ammendment

Please let me clarify. The V-Carve term used in my description is a CNC term. The 2nd Amendment was cut/carved with a 60 degree sign bit not a chisel.
