I guess the question is, is a vessel with a lid a box, or just a vessel with a lid? I completed this one a couple of months ago. It has since found a new home in Nova Scotia. Finished size is about 5”, more or less round. I must say that I enjoy smaller projects over the larger ones. I can’t tell you why. Materials are, maple, cherry, padauk, and the finale is Honduras Rose wood. The shape came from watching the neighborhood kid playing softball. I guess inspiration is were you find it.

ncdon,
Nice use of the various woods. I like all the different colors and the Rosewood finial is an excellent addition as well-Keep on keeping on!
