Here’s something I’ve been working on recently. I’ve been wanting to do an executive style toy (read: not for the kiddos) race car that had racing stripes for some time now. I got a fantastic piece of Claro Walnut that was just begging to be used for such a piece :)

I made some cuts and used Holly for the racing stripes, Ebony for the cab, and Bloodwood dowels for the tail lights. The contours of the car were hand carved with a rotary tool, making quite a mess on my workbench lol.

The finish is 3 coats of french polish tung oil. Overall measurements are 6 1/4” long, 2 3/8” tall and 3” wide.

Thanks for looking :)

-John
