A work entitled “The Lady”.

A single drawer, bandsawn box.

The timber is Australian Red Cedar.

Finished in pure Tung Oil, fine sanded to 1500 wet & dry.

Fun to make.

Thank you for the compliments.

This is my contribution to the Fluidity contest, for which the criteria is – “Like grasses swaying in a summer breeze, the fluid motion is visible in the solid form of the wood.”

With this work I’d like to substitute the word “lady” for “grasses”. I can visualise a vibrant young lady swaying in a summer breeze, an enchanting fluid motion.

The motion comes from both the shape of the bandsawn box and the wonderful movement of the grain, a gift of nature.
