I built this mallet for my Dad for Christmas. The wood is walnut with interior strips of white oak.
The finish is shellac, I usually buff it out but I liked this one shiny hehe.

There are two voids in the head filled with tightly packed copper I pulled off of old 22 shells,
(Of course I set off the black powder out in the street, giving the neighbor kids a show!)
and set in place with 2 part epoxy. Its got great heft and swing weight.

I’m working on 3 for myself, different sizes: small medium large.

Roughly built from the plans in Shop Notes.

Thanks for looking!
