My wife wanted a display shelf for Christmas what-nots that’s shaped like a Christmas tree. I made this using scrap wood and a piece of firewood for the ‘trunk.’ The shelf itself wasn’t a problem—glue/screw shelves to a piece of plywood. The trick was cutting the firewood to accept the stand and hold the tree plumb. The star is spray painted with glitter paint. The project took a little more than a day to finish (I work slow).

She posted a picture of this on Facebook, so now a bunch of her friends want me to make them one. I told her to tell them if they want one, marry a woodworker.

Nice Honeydo project with it’s own built in rewards. A great festive season project and now a possible career. The fireplace is not near as picky when it comes to square and level as the wife is. Merry Xmas

Your tree fell over. I hope no one was hurt.

Seriously though, that’s very creative. There’s never enough space for all of the decorations, and that’s a nice place to put them.
