Project Information
Just a quick wall hanging cabinet to hold my shaper cutters and parts. This cabinet is made from black walnut (door and face frame) and pre-finished birch plywood (carcass). Construction was quick and dirty- pocket screws for the face frame and biscuits for the carcass. Finish on the door and FF is three coats of General Finishes Arm-R-Seal, wiped on.
I wanted to use up some of the extra wood I had laying around, so I challenged myself to make this cabinet using only scraps I had on hand, including all the hardware. I dug around in my extra hardware bin and found an extra set of hinges and a handle. The walnut was actually milled slightly undersize (0.70") so I have avoided using it for anything 'good', but it was perfect for this project.
I decided to hang this one with a French cleat to make it easier to reposition later if needed. This also provides an air space behind the cabinet where it mounts to the block wall to prevent mold buildup from the damp block.
Thanks for looking!
