This is the fifth box of 7 rush boxes
I was inspired by the way David (Patron) made a box with rabbet all around. I don’t have a table saw to make the rabbets, instead I use a router. I made a dovetail joint for all the side corners as I was using a 5/16 inches thick side slats. I just make a visual estimate on the proportion for a long and slim box.
The materials:
Sides – Recycled Malaysian 2×3 previous rafters.
Top and bottom – Narra—also recycled.
Hinges, handle and latch – recycled from my router’s box.
The finish will not be glossy. I just want it to be rugged. Daddy want to use it for general purpose specially in bringing small items during travel.

That’s my kind of box, simple & utilitarian. Looks like it will last forever. Like the recycling of the hardware.

well done there , bert .
doing the corners with dovetails is a great idea ,
especially in thinner stock .
and recycled is good .
thanks for the kind words .

Very nice looking box Bert. I’m trying to catch up here, I’ve been gone for two weeks.
