Entertainment center constructed of barn wood with redwood interior. The barn wood is from a farm a few miles away. The redwood became available as we tore down and rebuilt our deck using composite decking. The redwood is about 20 years old, has been stained many many times and was also very dirty. I was able to slice 1/8” off all edges (In large part as I just upgraded to a new Grizzly G0691 saw, a big improvement over my 35 year old Delta contractor’s saw).
Joinery is a combination of mortise-and-tenon, biscuits, and simple butt joints using steel brackets. Finish is BLO and poly. The top is zinc sheet wrapped around a 3/4” plywood base. A first for me but made easy by all the good videos available on Youtube.
Headed to my son and daughter-in-laws new home in Bismarck, ND.

It looks great. I’m sure your son and daughter-in-law will love it.
