Dining table I made for my newly married daughter. Started with hand tools but to flatten the top had to use a homemade router sled and belt sander. Mahogany breadboard ends and beam on bottom with oak dowels. Finished with Tried and True Varnish oil.

Was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. That oak is tough and heavy. Happy how it came out in the end.

Excellent presentation of that figured oak! You really went to town with the BB ends and bow ties. Perfect heirloom quality piece Robert.

Thank you. Originally was going with walnut on the ends but changed to mahogany so as not to be so dark. I think I questioned myself every step of the way but in the end I like how it came out.

Very nice build, I will agree that the old oak slabs are very tough. A great gift.

Nice design. Don’t think Ive seen one quite like it. Like the large slabs for the top.
