in this small box he/they used the decorative side slots to act as stops ffor the top to sit on
very clever.
seen is a gift show in NewZealand.

Thats neat how the stops help keep the sides square, very nice work!

Very neat idea. I use the splines to hold the tray on my boxes but never for the top lid. Thanks for sharing.

just saw these boxes in a shop in Queenstown NZ and liked the idea.
the stone inset is Puaua… which is their Abalone, polished and sold in small batches is stores.
