I was contracted to make another one of these Last Supper projects after the buyer saw the one I made for a friend of mine’s Wedding back in June. I did and they love it.
I’m in the process of making about 9 more at this moment. It measures approx 24” long 14” wide/high and close to 7/8” thick. The face is made from 1/4” oak stained a golden oak stain and a 1/4” backer board from oak I stained the front in a ebony stain to give it a 3D look and stained the back side of the backer board in a golden oak stain. The entire project is protected with 4 lightly coats of spray on satin poly. The frame is black walnut with maple corner splines.
Takes me a while to cut these since I’m using 1/4” wood, from what i’ve seen on other parts of the net those are cut from 1/16” board stock. I just felt the 1/16” board stock isn’t stout enough. By cutting a 1/4’ face board and a 1/4” backer board, these will last a life time. I install a 1.5” saw tooth hanger to the back for ease of hanging. Thanks for dropping by, have a great day and Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!

Very beautiful piece. I am cutting my second one currently,my first east maple the second is oak. Both 1/4” . The firist is not drained nor has a finish yet, will do that after I finish cutting the second one.

It’s neither, this is an Experienced Level Scroll Saw cut. Thanks.
