My dad does what is called Cowboy action shooting, and one of the things he doesn’t have right now is an box to keep the .45 cartridges in. Since the Cowboy action shooting tries to be as authentic in look and feel of the old west as much as possible I did a little research and found that they used to keep a small wooden box, and that is what they would put the ammo in. Usually it was just thrown in there and there wasn’t slots for each cartridge. So keeping with that I built this box out of hickory, which was a wood they would have used back then. Some of the boxes I saw did have some design or even engraving done on it. So using a simple trick I transferred the photo onto the top of the box for him. I did want the image and the lid to come out better, but I made a mistake when installing the hinges, so that is why they look the way the do.

Still it turned out pretty well I think.
