I had a gentleman order a special edition turkey call for his grandson who had harvested his first ever turkey. The call itself is made of buckeye burl with the kid’s picture on the soundboard. The striker was turned from a piece of Oregon myrtle. The box is walnut with cypress legs, the lid is nicely spalted maple

Very nice. Beautiful wood and finish. A beautiful gift.

Beautiful work! I know the young fellow will be pleased with the gift and the memories it holds. BTW, my grandson and I saw three turkeys this spring….all hens. Oh well, like the Cubs and the World Series, wait ‘till next year.

Thanks everyone. I like to offer unique woods when I make a call or anything else for that matter. And to know that it is going to a kid makes it even more special.

And knothead, you need to come with me some time then. Probably saw 30+ longbeards this past spring adn was part of harvesting 5, which means there a more out there for next spring
