Bottle Openers

I’ve been having fun with my new lathe. After turning some snow men and a failed attempt at a bowl I picked up a bottle opener kit from Rockler. It turned out great and just about every friend I have wanted one. I picked up a ten pack of openers from a seller on Etsy and have started turning them.

I haven’t even turned ten successful projects and I already had a friend ask for some inventory for his furniture store. He specializes in live edge tables, mantles, benches and other projects. He’s looking to add smaller, more affordable wood products that appeal to more people. So this week I’m turning all ten of these, some more snowmen and honey dippers. I have some ideas of what to turn after that. Christmas projects, rolling pins and other kitchen items.

I’ll be learning how to turn bowls this weekend with a local guy who is an excellent turner. Trading some wood for lessons.

What an addicting hobby. Of all the woodworking I have done over the years nothing has hooked me quite like the lathe.

I agree the lathe is addicting! That’s a nice set! You gave me some ideas.
