I have built new habitat for our Russian tortoise.

Birch plywood, birch, cherry, walnut. Plywood was stained, edge banded. Finish – wipe on poly. Loose tenon joinery in the base, poket screws used to assemble the box.

Turned out nice, Glip really likes it. And now Luke, my Siamese cat, likes to hang around.

Nice job. I like the ramp going to the second floor to get the heat. I’m in the process of build a 3rd one for my daughter, only it’s 4’ x 7’. Crazy thing keeps getting bigger. I may have to add something like that second level to keep him more active. Thanks for posting.

Very interesting!!
It never false to impress me the things needed to be built around here.
Love the ramp and the pad shows he’s been flying up and down it.

Looks like put a lot of thought into this design.
Congratulations on a job well done!

Nice gesture for the slow one… in a few years he’ll get to appreciate the effort!

I could never pictured a tortoise russain.

You did a nice job on this living space and I’m sure that the tortoise appreciates and enjoys it in his own way. If you desire to own an animal as a pet I think that some effort needs to be put forth to keep it happy and you have accomplished that very nicely.

Thank you guys. Current design is result of several iterations – for the ramp, lamp holder, base and the pad.

Nice Job, get a mate for him/her and breed them as they are on the endangered specis from memory
Have a look at their tails as they are Sexually dimorphic.
